Hope 4 the Heart is a California nonprofit that receives donated food from large national faith-based charities - Operation Blessing and Feed the Children - and from regional companies - Safeway, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Trader Joes, and many others. Alameda County Food Bank delivers product to us through the EFB (Emergency Food Basket) and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) federally funded programs. We deliver product to them as well.
When Hope 4 the Heart receives deliveries, we inventory all the items, match them to the requests we receive for product, and distribute them 5 days a week various non-profit organizations around the Bay Area. We reach (in addition to our neighborhood) an estimated 12,000 Alameda County families a month with goods valued at over $15,000,000 a year.
We are an all-volunteer run organization, and we are very proud of our dedicated team of over 25 volunteers who logged in over 14,800 hours of service last year - the equivalent of over 7 full time paid employees.
